A Warm-up to Global Climate Change (8-Adult)

To give students background and context in which to discuss the relationship of greenhouse gas levels and negative global climate changes and to recognize how lifestyles — including their own personal choices — can impact greenhouse gas creation. Students will learn pertinent vocabulary while practicing listening, reading, speaking and writing skills as well as developing their fluency and grammatical accuracy in English.

It is the third lesson in the study skills series and is intended to support adult learners who are embarking on a course of study and need to acquire skills which will help them to be successful. The lessons are designed as a package with key skills reinforced in each subsequent lesson so that a study culture is developed over time. They can be delivered sequentially or used individually, as a whole or in part, to support other programs of study.

Students practice and review appropriate vocabulary and grammar in relation to room design using "The Room Maker" tool. This lesson is designed for adult ESOL learners at the low, beginning levels. It can also be adapted for learners in K - 7 grades.
